Christmas,
Life
As you may already know, I am on Christmas Break. ¬†My family and I didn’t have much planned for today and so I decided to bake a cake. ¬†It wasn’t just any cake that I planned on making, I was going to make a Gluten-Free Red Velvet Cake. ¬†Some of my readers may be aware that “gluten-free” food often has a unique taste to it. ¬†For some individuals “gluten-free” is synonymous with s gross or “tastes like cardboard.” ¬†I’ll admit that many gluten-free products have an interesting flavor that requires the eater to become accustomed to it. ¬†Despite these factors against my cake I opted to make one anyways.
A couple hours later my cake had cooled and I tried a piece of it before making the frosting. ¬†Well, my GF cake didn’t disappoint… or maybe I should say that it did. ¬†Apparently it is too dry
¬†I’m not really sure what went wrong. ¬†I followed the directions, but maybe that was the problem. ¬†Now I’m stuck with a gluten free red velvet cake that no one will want to eat… except for me.
The moral of the story is this: ¬†I don’t know.
I suppose that the next time I attempt to make a GF red velvet cake I should use a different recipe.

Christmas,
Life
So the past week of my life has been anything but uneventful.¬† Mom and I left So Cal last Sunday and had a very nice drive home… in fact we made in back in time for the evening service at Calvary.¬†
So my parents were having our kitchen floor retiled and one of the workers fell through the floor… and into my room… this was before I got home… So there was a hole in my ceiling causing me to sleep in the guest bedroom upstairs.
Monday Morning I went with my parents for breakfast… we had to eat all of our meals out because we can’t get into the kitchen for anything.¬† After breakfast I headed to BART so that I could get to jury duty.¬† I arrived at jury duty a little before 8:30, found a seat, and began to read a book that I brought with me.¬† Two hours later they announced that they would be calling two name roles and to say ‘here’ when your name was called.¬† My name wasn’t in the first list so I waited for approximately another 15 minute when the next list of names was called.¬† My name was on the second list… after they finished reading all the names they said that it was our luck day and that we were dismissed.¬†
So here it was 10:30ish, I didn’t want to go home cause of the construction and I didn’t want to go over to SF… I decided to go shopping.¬† By 12:30 I was tired of that so I drove to a park and sat in my car and read more of my book.¬† Well that got tiring too and finally I decided to go home around 2:30.¬† It took me forever to find something on TV that was worth watching but I finally settled on something around 3.¬†
About 15 minutes later I got a phone call from my roommate Natalie who said that her and Katie had been in a car accident in SF.¬† Well needless to say I was able to come to their rescue and make sure they were taken care off.¬† My parents and I took them to the emergency room just to get them checked out… and we didn’t leave until almost midnight.¬† Thankfully they were both okay.¬† A few bumps and bruises… but nothing major.
I spent Tuesday with the girls here at home and made sure that they got lots or rest… and boy did we rest.¬† They had their flight home on Wednesday… and they are now safe and sound with their families in Washington.
After dropping them off at the airport my mom and I headed to SF for church/ SFCS Christmas program.  I ended up running into a bunch of my high school friends at the program and I made plans to hang out with some of them the next day.  I spent Thursday shopping with my friends, and I wasted Friday by doing absolutely nothing of value.
The kitchen floor was finished sometime this week, so my mom and I were able to decorate the house for Christmas on Saturday.  The hole in my ceiling has been patched up so I finally spent the night in my own bed last night.
Daniel was supposed to be home Friday… but he has somehow managed to beat my record of being stuck in airports… He now planning on being home tonight (Sunday) around 10:30.
Hopefully this next week won’t be as eventful… but then it‚Äôs Christmas Break… and events are just part of the season… right?
