BOO!!! no one wants to read a romance novel where the girl and the guy don't end up together, ha its called a romance novel for a reason. ha no one wants reality thats why we read them to escape reality for a few moments into a perfect land where there is always happy endings!ha i love the thought of more focus on God tho....some of them are seriously lacking the "christian" in Christian romance.

I liked Roman Holiday - but sadly, hated the ending. I don't care if it isn't realistic, I LOVE happy endings. I have come across a few Christian Romance that aren't as predictable. I also have come across quite a few that are more focused on the characters' walk with God. I must admit however, that I don't really have a love/hate relationship with these books. My relationship with them is mostly love. lol

So true! I think you should write a book where the girl and guy don't end up together, because I agree, these books are way too predictable! lol, you'll probably get more hate mail than fan mail though. :) When I was in WI, at one of our girls' movie nights I showed an old movie, don't remember the name...it's set in Germany...anyways, and the guy and girl at the end don't get together even though they are in love...because they knew it just wouldn't work out. He's a prince and she's a pauper (I think that was why...) and I totally connected with the storyline and loved the fact that it didn't end predictably. And everyone HATED me, lol. I knew they would. But I was like "life's just like that sometimes." You can be in love and there are sometimes circumstances that you just can't change, unfortunately, no matter how hard you might wish- it doesn't always have a happy ending. So that's my biggest annoyance with "Christian romance" books...way to predictable and not lifelike. And yeah, the guy is always so perfect and we all know THAT's not realistic. At least not in my world. :)
Go write the book, Ruth! I'll buy it! Hannah probably would too. :)

I would have to agree with you in most of this post. I do like specific authors more because their characters do have more of a relationship with God. :)
